Episode 3

A term from Pope that applies to episode 3 is marginalization, because he puts certain demographics in the "margins" of the story. He marginalizes women, as he does not mention them often and they are not involved in the central theme of the narrative at all. They exist, especially in episode 3, simply just to delivery the sensitive information the John had taken his own life. In the "center", as Pope would call it, of the story lies Brian himself and then John.
